A Balladeer is a Dutch band, originating from Amsterdam. It was formed by singer-songwriter Marinus de Goederen.
In 2002, the band won the 3FM BuZz Award and another award the following year at the final of the annual Dutch musical contest De Grote Prijs van Nederland (The Big Prize of the Netherlands). In 2004, A Balladeer opened up for international acts Saybia and Keane and released their first EP: 'Rumor Had It'. The EP featured 4 songs, including the critically acclaimed They've Shut Down Marks & Spencer, which resulted in considerable airplay in the Netherlands.

In 2001 the band Redivider lost keyboard player Diederik Nomden. The remaining members began what is now known as Alamo Race Track. They felt that Nomden's departure affected the band's sound, so they took on a new band name, Alamo Race Track. Under this name, David Corel, Guy Bours, Len Lucieer and Ralph Mulder started to record new demo tracks.
After supporting Daryll-Ann on a tour in early 2002, Excelsior Recordings signed the band. The following year the band played many high profile shows, resulting in good reviews from various Dutch magazines.

Again The Hague is supplier of a promising rock band. The young formation All Missing Pieces is formed by three brothers, named Camiel (16), Wristers (14) and Quinten (12). During september 2007 they launched their first self written single called 'I Want You To Know'.

In 2008 they also released their second single 'Busdriver' and their third, 'Push the Button'. Different media are paying attention to the band and labeled them as 'The Future Of Rock&Roll'. During august 2008 they where the openings band for the prestigious Beatstad festival in front of 40,000 people.

 

Three years after her triple platinum album Hotel New York, Anouk is back with a vengeance. Who’s Your Momma is her fifth studio album and it is her most versatile and ambitious album so far.
Last summer, Anouk traveled to Los Angeles - the Mecca of rock music - to start working on Who’s Your Momma with world-famous producer Glen Ballard, known for his work with Alanis Morrisette, No Doubt and Michael Jackson to name but a few, and the winner of five Grammy Awards. He’d been at the top of Anouk’s wish-list for a while, but seemed out of reach. Under the guise of ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained’ she sent him a few demos to convince him to work with her anyway. Says Anouk, “He called me two days later and said ‘I’ll make time for you; let’s do it!’”

Mix hip-hop, metal and urban into a controlled mayhem of sounds and what you get is Bagga Bownz. Hailing from The Hague, the Netherlands, the distinctive vocals of Mellow-C against the concrete raps of L Rock on a layer of 'Rock your socks off' guitars (XLR, aka Eller van Buuren, brother of the acclaimed number 1 dj of the world, Armin van Buuren), loops and noises of drummer Koen Herfst and bassist Wong Jr. are widely noticed outside their country. Not to mention the thousands of downloads in Japan and the U.S., that resulted in an US Billboard 'Hits of the web' Chart position. They performed in the US twice at the Just Plain Folks Awards and on the International Stage at the Midpoint Music Festival in Cincinnati .

From an early age Boris his music is being to influenced by great soul heroes as Prince and Michael Jackson, but also his predecessor Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye and Donny Hathaway. In his still short short career, he has a worked together with famous international musicians. He wrote songs with singer Sandra St. Victor of The Family Stand, and sang duets with soul stars John Legend and Angie Stone. In 2005 Boris was nominated for an Edison Award for Best Singer. Two years later he won the Edison Jazzism Award.

Candy Dulfer is a Dutch smooth jazz alto saxophonist. She started to play saxophone at the age of six. She has had her own band, Funky Stuff, since she was fourteen. Her debut album Saxuality (1990) received a Grammy Award nomination. Over the years she released nine studio albums, two live albums, and one compilation album. She has performed and recorded songs with several other musicians, such as her father Hans Dulfer, Prince, Dave Stewart, René Froger, Van Morrison, and Maceo Parker. For the Dutch television series Candy meets... (2007), she interviewed musicians she worked with.

Claw Boys Claw are a Dutch rock & roll band, formed in Amsterdam. The core members of the band are Peter Te Bos (vocals) and John Cameron (guitar).They established a reputation by being one of the most popular live bands in the Netherlands and released eight full-length albums between 1983 and 1997. After some years of inactivity, the band started playing live again in 2007 and released a new album, Pajama Day, in 2008.

Although originally envisioned by Martijn Westerholt as a musical project featuring a host of guest musicians, due to the high demand for live performances a real band was formed. This lead to the Roadrunner release of Delain's debut album 'Lucidity' in 2006. The group of musicians quickly transformed into a solid rocking force. Now Delain is nothing less than a real band. A versatile band with an impressive new album called April Rain.

Though originally from the Netherlands, Destine obviously has a sound which relates to bands like Fall Out Boy, Paramore en Simple Plan. With such a distinctive American sound and appearance and a Sony Music record deal under its belt, it seems like only a matter of time before Destine becomes an established name in Europe.

 

Mid 2009, after spending almost 10 years together, lead singer Tim Akkerman decides to leave the band, leaving the others flabbergasted behind. The rest of the band wants to move on and decides to look for a new singer. Public broadcaster BNN registers their search for a new lead singer. The eventual program consists out of 9 episodes, a mix between reality and documentary, broadcasted primetime every Sunday at 9.30 p.m. It gives an insight into who DI-RECT actually is, with a clear profile of each band member and it clearly states how the band makes its choice for a new singer.

Epica is a Dutch symphonic metal band founded by guitarist and vocalist Mark Jansen subsequent to his departure from After Forever.
